About this deal

Bogle shows you how to make index investing work for you and help you achieve your financial goals, and finds support from some of the world's best financial minds: not only Warren Buffett, but Benjamin Graham, Paul Samuelson, Burton Malkiel, Yale's David Swensen, Cliff Asness of AQR, and many others. What several investors and academics—from Warren Buffett and Benjamin Graham to Paul Samuelson and Burton Malkiel—have to say about index investing. I thought it was going to be extremely basic beginners guide and only scratch the surface of the investment world. After hearing so many references to John Bogle and his followers, the Bogleheads, I decided I had to read this book.

Filled with in–depth insights and practical advice, The Little Book of Common Sense Investing will show you how to incorporate this proven investment strategy into your portfolio. You ll also find warnings about investment fads and fashions, including the recent stampede into exchange traded funds and the rise of indexing gimmickry. Bogle is the inventor of the index-tracking fund, so it's no surprise that this is all about index investing. That said, the book gives very clear examples of why an index fund can be generally expected to beat the alternatives, and provides an excellent argument for why this should be one of the main investment tools for everyone except die-hard gamblers.gonna enter my financially knowledgeable girl era 🔜 should it prob be 5 stars yes but i am not giving a book abt investing the satisfaction of being 5 stars. My mentor, Ben Graham, took this position manyyears ago, and everything I have seen since convinces me of its truth. If you want to stop them, drop everything, read this marvelous little book, and take it to heart; your children, and their children's children, will thank you. The book is also aimed at an American investor and some of the tenets praised by the author are not that relevant for someone living in a different part of the world. I would also recommend very strongly Jack's other seminal book, 'Enough': Enough True Measures of Money, Business, and Life by Bogle, John C. The sole minus point is that it is very repetitive, reiterating on the same point from different angles. However I would suggest to read the richest man in Babylon followed by the intelligent investor before reading this book.

Over the course of his long career, Bogle founder of the Vanguard Group and creator of the world s first index mutual fund has relied primarily on index investing to help Vanguard s clients build substantial wealth. note I have no prior belief whether index funds are better or not, I simply struggle with such fanatical bias). I would recommend the book for anyone who wants to start investing but doesn't want the headaches and the more technical stuff. If you want to stop them, drop everything, read this marvelous little book, and take it to heart; your children, and their children′s children, will thank you. If we imbibe a sense of patience and discipline by starting early, consistent investment throughout the runway would lead to desired results within twenty years without having to go through sleepless nights thinking about the market volatility.
