About this deal

and Grayson Pierce Sullivan (inmate number six, one, four) a convicted killer (the Angel of Maine) that London is psych analysing his disturbed clinical behaviours. It showed how Grayson was killing and torturing people that 'deserved' to be killed because they were killers, or rapists, or criminal themselves. Like an old cassette tape being recorded over and over, my memories now play back a garbled distorted song. This goes to some seriously dark places and requires the reader to suspend what they believe about “healthy” relationships.

He was the most interesting thing about this book, but unfortunately, his “talents” weren’t showcased enough. The story really keeps you on your toes, with loadsif twists and turns that will definitely shock you! Despite its twisted nature, the book is a captivating read that will keep you on the edge of your seat with its suspense and unexpected twists. The author put in the perfect amount of darkness, thrill, tension alongwith the psychological details being the cherry on the top.I really did enjoy this book, it was one I found myself racing towards the end to find out what happens but at the same time not really wanting it to end. But what if, although their methods are not acceptable in society, deep down if our loved ones were hurt we wouldn't at least in our darkest moments, consider the same actions? It's dark and has dark themes and triggers, but to me it still felt more slow psychological thriller than anything else. I wanted to give this two stars for all the points mentioned above, but I felt at the end of the day - It would be doing my beliefs an injustice. To pull through a book like this needs talent, practice and originality- and it was evident in Wolfe writing.

Grayson’s personality rouses many questions in the readers mind, all of which were astutely answered by the author. I, for one, found myself hanging onto the bumper by my fingernails; sometimes having to cover my eyes, yet looking through my fingers for what was to come next. London Noble, a criminal psychologist, provides rehabilitation to inmates and convict murderers under the pretense of helping them, but in reality she’s no better than the criminals she treats.I was in college waiting for a seminar to begin when I started this book, and I literally had to walk out because it was either that or put the book down, and I couldn’t put this book down goddammit! In all honesty, this is not only one of my favorite reads this year, but one of my favorites from author Trisha Wolfe. Before being transferred to a maximum security penitentiary, he decides to have therapy sessions with a criminal psychologist, London Noble, who would evaluate and diagnose him before his trial in three months, and speak on his behalf at the trial and advocate for leniency. It was such a heartwarming, womb-clenching experience to watch their patient and doctor relationship evolve into something forbidden, something lethal.Regardless of how you feel about Grayson's sickly behavior, he has moments of vulnerability that shows a human side you can't ignore.
